MILLER NETS SECOND-PLACE FINISH AT DENVER

DENVER, Colo. (Aug. 14, 2004) — Johnny Miller, driver of the No. 64 Eaton Chevrolet Corvette,
finished second in Saturday’s Cytomax Sport Drink 100 Motorock Trans-Am Series race at the Grand Prix
of Denver. Miller recovered from mechanical problems early in the weekend, then held off four-time
Trans-Am champion Tommy Kendall to net his first podium this season in just his second start for Derhaag
Motorsports. Finishing just behind former teammate Paul Gentilozzi, the 2003 Championship runner-up
recorded best career finish at Denver.

“It was a good, clean race and we raced hard on green the whole way,” said Miller of the caution-free
event. “I was in the front with some of this year’s fastest drivers and I passed Tommy Kendall to come
in second place. It was an awesome feeling to be back on the podium.

“I have missed this series and have enjoyed these two races—I hope to be back full time next year,” said
Miller, who’s team changed a transmission between final practice Saturday morning and the afternoon’s
race. “I liked working with Jim (Derhaag) and his crew. He has a solid operation and they are a great
group of people. We can be quick with them. They did a great job getting back in the show today and I
felt good to be back in the driver’s seat.

“There were more than 100 Eaton fans in the stands today cheering for me and I’m glad I gave them a
great show today,” explained Miller. “Eaton has been my sponsor for a long time and I was thankful to
have them supporting me today. It was great being back with Eaton this weekend.”

Miller returned to Trans-Am racing this year with Derhaag Motorsports owned by Jim Derhaag. He
comes into this year following what was arguably his best Trans-Am season on record. Backing up his
Rookie of the Year award in 1996 and being named BBS Most Improved Driver in 1998 in a vote by his
fellow competitors, Miller reached a new zenith in 2003. Finishing second in the title chase, Miller
earned his second Trans-Am victory, and scored eight podium finishes in 10 starts last season. He also
recorded his 100th career start last year.

Highlights from today’s race will air on Spike TV’s popular “Dangerous Curves” timeslot,
Sunday, Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. (EDT, PDT).
